In an attempt to comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), I have made an Impressum page which includes a statement of ownership and my policies. Likewise I have made a Comments Policy where I make an outline of the behaviour I expect on my blog.

General Disclosure

This sounds silly to European ears, but since I know a significant number of my readers are from the United States and they expect some legal disclosure stuff. Here it goes.

I want to stress that the views and opinions expressed at this blog are mine, and do not necessarily reflect the official policy or position of any employer and/or other organisation I am affiliated with. Also, any content provided is my opinion, and neither intended as advice of any kind. I am not a doctor or a lawyer.

Financial Disclosure

My other disclosure isn’t required either by EU law, as far as I know, but I think it’s ethical regardless. I work for a charity that has non-profit status in the Netherlands (a ‘public benefit organisation’, or ANBI). I occasionally link to products in my blog via an affiliate link. They will receive a commission on products sold using these links. All affiliated links on my blog are marked by an asterisk (*) in bold.

When I recommend products and services on this blog, I usually don’t get paid for doing so. When I ever get sponsored for an honest review, the post will be marked as sponsored content. In all other cases I recommend products I have used myself and like them so much that I think others might like them too.
